Raiders Add Jeff George

Why Dear God, Why......

The Oakland Raiders have signed veteran free agent quarterback Jeff George, the team announced today. George, who entered the NFL as a first round draft pick by the Indianapolis Colts in 1990, played for the Raiders from 1997-98. He threw for 3,917 yards and 29 touchdown passes in 1997.
"I'm really excited to be back, I'm just very thankful that this organization believed in me and allowed me another opportunity, because I don't know where I would be without them," George said after taking part in hist first practice since signing with the team. "I felt good out there. I felt like I really hadn't missed a beat. Once you're a part of this family, you remain a family and I have felt that even though I wasn't here, I really felt like part of the Raider family. I knew from the get go, that if I was going to get back in the league there was only one team that I wanted to be a part of."
